Report: Robin Gibb was making 'bucket list' before falling into coma

Before slipping into a coma, legendary Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb reportedly was confident or hopeful enough to make a "bucket list" of things he hoped to accomplish, the U.K. Mirror reports. Gibb was “scribbling ideas for songs and plans for the future in a notebook” as he began treatment for pneumonia in April, a source told the newspaper. The list reportedly included plans to start a child

Before slipping into a coma, legendary Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb reportedly was confident or hopeful enough to make a "bucket list" of things he hoped to accomplish, the U.K. Mirror reports

Gibb was “scribbling ideas for songs and plans for the future in a notebook” as he began treatment for pneumonia in April, a source told the newspaper. The list reportedly included plans to start a children's charity involving music and also lyrics for future songs.

In 2010, the 62-year-old singer was diagnosed with colon cancer which later spread to his liver. Reuters reports that Gibb's wife Dwina, sons Spencer and Robin-John, daughter Melissa and brother Barry are currently keeping a bedside vigil.

In March, after his cancer went into remission, Gibb told The Sun he believed his illness could be the cost of lifelong success in the music business.

“I sometimes wonder if the tragedies my family has suffered are a kind of karmic price for all the fame and fortune the Bee Gees have had,” said the musician, whose brothers Maurice and Andy also died young. “The illness, and the untimely death of my brothers, has made me conscious of the fact that — rather than just think about it — it’s crucial that you do today what you want to do.”

He continued. “I’ve got a sense of urgency about life, rather than withdrawing from it and feeling depressed. Now I know how precious time is, and that you can’t put it in the bank. So, I intend to make the most of every single second of it that I’ve got left.”

Gibb’s 91-year-old mother, Barbara, has reportedly flown from the United States to England to be by his side. The Daily Record reports that she believes her family is “cursed, like the Kennedy dynasty.” A source told the news outlet that Barbara is “beside herself."
