The 19th season of "The Amazing Race" came to an end Sunday night when, after the usual variety of off-course setbacks and travel snags, one of the final three couples crossed the finish line and claimed the $1 million grand prize.

Love was in the air for the all-important last stretch, as dating couple Jeremy and Sandy, engaged pair Ernie and Cindy and the married Marcus and Amani headed to Atlanta, Ga.

Marcus and Amani assumed the hometown finish line would work in their favor, but given their eventual third-place position, it's clear there's no such thing as a local advantage.

Instead, Ernie and Cindy, who overcame a slow start (thanks to that tricky flight simulator seen above), proved themselves the fastest of the bunch and claimed the big bucks. And they already know what they want to do with the winnings.

“We would really like to create an organization that can multiply the million and help people in need,” Cindy explained.

As for Ernie and Cindy's needs, the couple can cross one off their wedding to-do list.

“I think the race is the ultimate premarital counseling,” Cindy said.
