Christina Aguilera won’t be getting a Christmas card from "Voice" contestant Tony Lucca -- or his coach, Adam Levine.
Now that season two of the singing competition is officially over, Lucca revealed that he doesn’t believe he and his fellow former Mousketeer could ever be friends again.
"But I think we could move forward being courteous and respectful of one another,” he told TODAY.com
Lucca, who finished in third place Tuesday night, said he finally had an opportunity to speak with the scantily-clad Grammy winner, who has been highly critical of his performances, after the live finale in L.A.
“We actually had our first conversation that wasn’t mediated by Carson Daly,” he said. “It was cool. I think it was genuine. She tried to make light of what clearly became a media frenzy over (her ongoing feud with Levine) and how I somehow kind of got caught in the middle of it.
“I said to her, ‘My hopes are that we can just be cool going forward.’”
While Lucca, 32, has said Aguilera calling him “one dimensional” was a source of motivation, Levine is still fuming. According to Hollywood Life, he wants to re-record “Moves Like Jagger” without her. And she wants him fired from the show.
The constant bickering and Aguilera’s constant criticism of Lucca “was a bit of a distraction,” coach Cee Lo Green told reporters backstage. In fact, he said, it could “very possibly” have affected the outcome of voting.
Jermaine Paul -- a father of four and former backup singer for Alicia Keys -- was crowned champion Tuesday night.
‘The Voice’ has already begun casting for next season and is widely expected to be a part of NBC’s schedule for this fall. Green said he is hopeful the feuding stars can settle their differences by then.
“I think a bit of communication and working it out over our time off ... we can work it out,” he assured. “I want to mediate it.”
