Two more lovely ladies have been drawn into the magical world of ABC's "Once Upon a Time."
"So excited!!" Chung tweeted about her casting news.
Her character, Hua Mulan, is from an old Chinese poem about a young woman who disguises herself as a man to fight in the army in place of her father. Disney brought the young woman's tale to the big screen with the animated film "Mulan" in 1998. According to EW, the character will likely appear in multiple episodes.
Princess Aurora is also expected to be a recurring character, according to TVLine. Bolger, who played Lady Mary on Showtime's "The Tudors," also tweeted her excitement over the new role. "Aurora here-I-come!!!! Xx," the actress tweeted.
With the addition of Aurora, viewers could also expect to be introduced to her love, the dashing Prince Phillip, if "Once" follows the 1959 Disney animated film's version of the tale. And of course, Sleeping Beauty must prick her finger on the spinning wheel cursed by Maleficent, which will hopefully mean more of Kristin Bauer van Straten! (But Emma did appear to kill Maleficent last season ...) As for bickering fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather from the classic film, who knows? Maybe viewers have already had a glimpse of them in season one when various fairies joined the Blue Fairy to help Snow White.
ABC has not yet announced the season two premiere date for "Once Upon a Time," but the show will air on Sundays at 8 p.m.
Which fairy tale characters who aren't already part of the show would you like to see included? And who should play them? Tell us on our Facebook page!
