Update: Despite his rep's statment, Phil Collins has now announced his retirement on his personal site. See more here.
Genesis fans, rejoice: Onetime front man Phil Collins is not retiring. Even though most people would interpret "it feels like a good time to stop for a while," and "I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely,” (which he told FHM, via Time) as a clear intention of retiring, Collins' people say it isn't so.
"He is not, has no intention of, retiring," his U.K. rep told People.
Some of the retirement talk might be stemming from Collins' need to take time off due to nerve damage in his left hand, which required surgery and time off to recuperate.
"At the moment I can't feel the fingers on my left hand or the ends of my fingers so playing drums or piano is probably -- I can't do that at the moment," he told People at the time.
