"America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel promised that this would be the "most outrageous" season yet, and if the season premiere Tuesday is any indication, the show is right on track to deliver — thanks to host Nick Cannon.

The comedian and actor pranked judges Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B. and Mandel by dressing up as a mime (he was completely unrecognizable) and taking the stage to audition. Not only did he deliver a subpar act — complete with the boring trapped-in-a-box and fighting-the-wind routines — he gave the panel quite a scare.

After the judges very quickly gave him four X's, they didn't mince their words when criticizing him. And that's when a very upset "Larry the mime" lost it.

"Where do you guys get off telling me how to mime?!" Nick-as-Larry demanded.

And as Stern tried to defuse the situation, the mime gave the shock jock a piece of his mind: "You know how hard it is to not talk? ... No, because all you do is you run your mouth, Howard. That's all you do. You're a moron, that's what you are."

The mime went on to insult everyone before making his way toward the panel as the judges yelled for security to stop him. It wasn't until Nick-as-Larry ripped off his wig and yelled, "I've had it!" that the four finally realized they had been pranked.

The trick had the judges laughing, and viewers loved the bit as well.

The host later shared his own delight at how well his prank went over.

Mandel admitted after the show aired that the angry mime really did cause a fright.

Cannon's prank certainly won't improve Mandel's opinion of mimes. During a visit to TODAY on Tuesday, Mandel admitted that mimes are his least favorite performers.

"I hate mimes because you can't talk to those people ... (and) they're always in trouble. It's a negative," he explained.
