Poor Times Square! The destination often takes a beating from tourists and revelers. And as a fresh clip from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" reveals, Times Square is about to get smacked around pretty badly yet again.
"Spider-Man" creator Stan Lee — still amazingly spry at 91 — introduces the clip, which debuted on New Year's Eve. "I don't know about you, but I am so excited about this!" he enthuses.
And what a look it is! It's informative (Times Square gets 39 million visitors a year). It's funny (Spider-Man, played by Andrew Garfield, catches a car that would have squashed an officer and quips, "Need a hand?") And it's dramatic (Jamie Foxx, crackling as Electro, gets grabby with the electricity in one of the brightest spots on the planet). Plus, of course, there's a lot of wanton explosions and destruction in the city itself.
It's all shaping up to be a huge fight, and the clip even teases it'll be Spidey's "greatest battle." But fans will have to wait until later this year to see the full movie. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will be slinging its way into theaters on May 2.
