While there's never been a more hyped experiment in the nine season history of Discovery Channel's "MythBusters," the cannonball-through-a-house incident won't make the cut on any upcoming episode of the show.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the show's lead duo, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, have sworn off ever airing the footage that would feature a wayward cannon plowing through the Dublin, Calif. residence of the Shetty family.

"It's a wake-up call," Savage told the paper. "Honestly, the feeling of embarrassment is not something we're indulging in right now. We feel for the families and the people affected by this. … Some people watch our show and think that we're reckless. Others watch our show and they see we take safety seriously. The fact is the latter is the case."

That's good news to Hitha Shetty, who met with the duo, despite the concerns he has following the blast.

"The kids are usually playing there," the homeowner said. "I want to make sure this doesn't happen again. And, of course, they need to pay for this. Not just the physical damage, but everything else."

Neither Savage or Hyneman were on hand at the time of the action. The myth that was tested (and presumably proved), which was about whether a stone cannonball could break through a castle wall, was conducted by the show's "B" team of Grant Imahara, Kari Byron and Tory Belleci.

Imahara, Byron and Belleci have all issued apologies via Twitter
