Morgan Freeman is known not just for his acting chops, but also for his amazing baritone voice. Yet when he visited "The Tonight Show" on Thursday, host Jimmy Fallon wasn't interested in hearing the actor's natural, soothing deep tone. He wanted something ... a little less serious.

And to the seeming dismay of the Oscar-winning star, the comedian busted out helium-filled balloons. The two went on to do the interview — Freeman grudgingly so — sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

This isn't the first time that Freeman has used helium to make his voice sound "very undignified" for television. He did it recently for Science Channel's "Through the Wormhole," which he narrates.

Freeman is currently starring in the film "Lucy," which opens July 25. "The Tonight Show" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
