Megan Fox thinks she might have "eight or nine" tattoos, but she hasn't counted them. But it doesn't matter because Monday night she talked to Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" about how she's having them removed.

The actress discussed the painful laser treatment she is undergoing, starting with the Marilyn Monroe face on the inside of her right forearm.

"Getting them is not that bad," Fox says. But she equates the laser hitting the ink -- without knowing the "exact science" -- to "your skin sort of explodes and looks like little kernels of popcorn popping up." Leno's audience groaned and the "Friends With Kids" star confirmed: "They can't numb it enough to make the pain go away."

Leno asks in restrospect whether Fox, 25, thought it was a smart idea to get inked. She says everyone told her, at 19 years old, that there would be a day when she was not going to love her tattoos anymore.

"I was stubborn and I thought that I would love it forever, or that it would be like a book of my life, all the things that I loved when I was younger," Fox says. "And it's not that at all."

Fox started with the removal of the Marilyn tattoo because it's her biggest one and she has to cover it when she's working.

Do you think Megan Fox is smart to get her tattoos removed, or should she hold onto the "book of her life"? Discuss it all over on Facebook.
