Lynch on hosting Emmys: I hope no one cringes

Remember Rob Lowe’s cheesy performance with Snow White at the Oscars in 1989? Yeah, so does Jane Lynch. But not for a good reason.

"What was the theme ... the Rob Lowe with Snow White. That’s one of the most cringed moments I’ve ever experienced watching an awards show," she told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

Lynch, who will be hosting the Emmys on Sept. 18, is aiming higher for her awards-show gig. “My goal is that no one will cringe, or that very few people will cringe,” she said.

But for “Glee” fans hoping to see a lot of her bullying coach Sue Sylvester, you may want to dial down your expectations. “There are some ideas out there for Sue Sylvester, but I think we’ll probably leave her tracksuit at the Paramount lot,” said Lynch.

Emmys executive producer Mark Burnett agreed. “If there’s any nod to Sue, it’ll be very very minor,” he said.
