Kirsten Dunst's Death Star gown is a Force at Met Gala

This is not the formal gown you're looking for. Unless, of course, you're a "Star Wars" fan, or actress Kirsten Dunst, who chose to wear an elegant black gown imprinted with the second Death Star to Monday night's Met Gala in New York.

Kirsten Dunst's Death Star dress turned heads at the Met Gala Monday night.

Even on a night when outlandish fashions ruled, from Lupita Nyong'o's net-covered feather dress to Brie Larson's spangly pantsuit, Dunst stood out like a Wookiee in a herd of Ewoks.

From Sarah Jessica Parker to Bradley Cooper, Hollywood A-listers donned their best attire for the 2014 Costume Institute Gala.

The gown, from Rodarte, wasn't the only "Star Wars"-themed gown Dunst could have chosen. Other choices offered by the designer highlight Luke Skywalker, Yoda, C-3PO and R2-D2.

She's not the first celebrity to turn to the Dark Side with her clothing choice. Back in 2009, Kristin Wiig's Emmy gown was so Darth Vader-like that even the official "Star Wars" blog dubbed it "Sith fashion."  And Julia Roberts wore a Rodarte Darth Vader blouse Monday night for an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
