Katie Couric has gotten engaged to her financier boyfriend of two years, John Molner, according to People magazine

Couric's rep has confirmed the engagement, saying that Molner, 50, asked Couric, 56, to marry him over the holiday weekend in East Hampton, N.Y.

The former TODAY anchor, who is now host of "Katie," was widowed in 1998 when her husband Jay Monahan died of colon cancer. She has two daughters from that relationship, Ellie, 21 and Carrie, 17.

Couric worked for NBC News from 1989-2006, and spent the bulk of her tenure working in various positions at TODAY, including co-anchor. She left in 2006 to become the anchor and managing editor of "CBS Evening News," a position she held until 2011. Her current show, "Katie," is about to begin its second season.

Molner heads up mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman, and the two took their romance public in April 2012; she told the press later that year, "He's great. He's from Chicago. I love Midwesterners!"
