They put the "pal" in principal. They know what students listen to these days. And these administrators totally speak your language … dude.
It's likely you've met one of those allegedly cool-as-the-kids principals during your own school days, but if not, no worries: Jimmy Fallon and Julianna Margulies brought a couple of them to life on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday night.
Assuming the roles of a pair of principals who were "voted the most entertaining and musical morning announcement duo in the tri-county area — seven years running," they delivered the school news of the day in the form of hit songs.
For instance, revealing that there would be a debate team meetup and bake sale at the same time was no problem for Principal Davidson (Fallon). He simply channeled his inner Taylor Swift to sing, "Debaters gonna bate, bate, bate, bate, bate. Bakers gonna bake, bake, bake, bake, bake. Bake it off! Debate it off!"
Meanwhile, his trusty vice principal put a delightfully awkward spin on Magic's "Rude" by asking the student body, "Why you gotta text those nudes?"
Get ready to smile — and cringe. See the full pun-filled principal act in the clip.
"The Tonight Show" airs weeknights at 11:30.
