"Jersey Shore" news flash: Deena Nicole Cortese says she had no sex while the show filmed in "Italy" for its fourth season.
That may be hard to believe based on watching any part of the MTV show, but Cortese -- who sat down with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on TODAY's fourth hour this morning, says it's true.
"I made out, yes," she said, sitting next to co-star Sammi Giancola. "But this is what people forget: We're in a house without cell phones, music, anything, no communication with the outside world. We have no days off. Everything is recorded. In Italy we were out of our comfort zone. The only thing that's fun to me isgive me a glass of wine."
Gifford agreed.
The show's notoriety has made it challenging for the "Shore" cast to go out in public, said Giancola. "I think people recognize us all the time, you can't go out on the street without somebody recognizing you."
Still, when they do hit the pavement -- whether it's face down in Italy or walking down the streets of New York, Cortese says she has no shame about her antics. "I don't get embarrassed any more," she said.
The season finale of "Jersey Shore" airs Thursday, Oct. 20 on MTV.
