Game night -- it's not just for family and friends anymore. In one week, actress Jane Lynch will bring a new version of the tradition into living rooms everywhere with "Hollywood Game Night."
"There's nothing on television like it," she insisted during a Wednesday morning visit to TODAY. "It's actually a game night that we do at Sean Hayes' house, who's our executive producer. And (the crowd is) crazy and they're loud and they're raucous, and we put it on television."
For each episode, six celebrities and two civilians will face off for several parlor games. In addition to celebrity and charades, Lynch said viewers can expect to see a "special little 'Name That Tune,'" wherein players can only use "do-do-do" in place of music or lyrics, and a round that requires contestants to "put Oprah's hairstyles in chronological order."
"It's just a lot of fun," Lynch assured. "We're drinking; we're having a good time."
Look out for a couple of familiar faces from TODAY joining in on the good time. Al Roker and Hoda Kotb will both appear this season. And if there's a season two, well, expect to see even more of the morning gang.
"If we get picked up for another season we're going to do a TODAY show special," Lynch said.
