Earlier Friday, TMZ reported that singer Casey Abrams, who was confirmed to be in "American Idol's" top 24 Thursday night, may have to drop out.
The fan and judges' favorite was rushed to the hospital Wednesday for severe stomach pains and was still there as of early Friday. The worry was that Abrams wouldn't be well enough to participate in the taping of the men's scheduled performances tonight, but it appears that all is well now.
A source close to "Idol" told TVLine.com that the singer was able to perform as planned. TMZ also reports that Abrams was released from the hospital earlier in the day, and that he had even fit in two rehearsals for the taping. Had he been too ill to participate, Abrams would have had to drop out of the competition.
