The "ice bucket challenge" that has swept through the professional golf ranks has found a new target — Matt Lauer.

The challenge is set into motion when people post a video of themselves dumping a bucket of ice cold water over their heads, then call out friends on social media to do the same. If you don't comply, you have to donate to charity.

In a video on Instagram, Hall of Fame golfer Greg Norman issued challenges to former president Bill Clinton and Lauer. Matt took the bait on TODAY Monday.

"He's called me out, and I think Bill Clinton as well, so I will be doing this at some point tomorrow on the show and calling out some other people on my list,'' Lauer said.

The challenge gained steam in late June when pro golfer Rickie Fowler doused himself and called out fellow golfer Keegan Bradley, who obliged while issuing his own challenge to keep the chain going. The hashtag #IceBucketChallenge soon had golfers of all levels and others issuing dares.

The challenge spread to the women's professional golf ranks, with Michelle Wie undergoing an ice cold bath and then calling out her fellow professionals.
