Howard Stern swears off talk shows

Howard Stern’s Thursday appearance on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” could be his last on that or any other talk show for some time to come.

Although it’s hard to tell if the satellite radio leader was simply having a laugh or dropping a bombshell, Stern claimed he’s leaving Fallon and the “Lettermans” behind.

“So I’ve done the talk show circuit, and now this is it. I’m done,” he said of his decision. “For five years I’ll just only do my show and go into hiding. No more Lettermans; no more any.”

When Fallon’s audience responded with boos, the Stern shot back, “What do you care?” before going on to explain the reason behind his talk show hiatus.

“It’s a lot of pressure,” Stern told Fallon. “Right away, my fans call in the next day. ‘I don’t know if you looked so good.’ ‘You know, you look good.’ ‘You looked bad.’ ‘I don’t know. I didn’t like this part.’ ‘I like that part, but you weren’t that good.’ ... I mean, everybody's got something”
