Life & Style reports that Womack flew Maynard to Austin, Texas, on April 29 to try one last time to save their relationship. Though they've been apart since April 9, the magazine reports that when he picked her up at the airport, there was no hug or kiss. Instead, they went straight to lunch. The pair was awkward, uncomfortable and distant during the meal, an onlooker told Life & Style.

Maynard flew back to Charlotte, N.C., on May 2. The same day, Womack shared his thoughts with the magazine. "We're taking it one day at a time," he said.

But things may not even be as hopeful as he paints them. His mom, Pamela, is saying that her son is heartbroken. "She says he's really ready for a family and now has to deal with this," a friend told Life & Style. "It's not fair. (His mom) says that Emily isn't the woman she acted like on 'The Bachelor.' Pamela thinks it's because Emily's too young."
