More people may be looking better than ever as they hit the milestone age of the big 5-0, but few can say they wear it as well as John Stamos.
Whether you came to love him through his early work as Blackie on "General Hospital," as Uncle Jesse on "Full House," or his current role on "Necessary Roughness," it's hard not to admire the way he has aged — not just gracefully, but admirably.
And just because he's now old enough to receive benefits from AARP doesn't mean Stamos is going to sit home and grow old. As his Twitter feed recently revealed, he hung out with former "Full House" co-star Bob Saget in a "pre-birthday weekend" get-together at the Outside Lands food and music festival in San Francisco.
But how did Stamos spend his "last few hours being 49"? With Mom. Who looks darned good, too.
On top of all of that, he supports good works: Stamos and others, including his "Full House" co-star Dave Coulier and "The Newsroom's" Olivia Munn have paired up with non-profit social change group DoSomething.org to celebrate Aug. 19 as "Stamos Day," creating a Twitter tag (#StamosDay) and calling attention to the organization's "Birthday Mail" campaign, which encourages people to send cards to homeless children.
Happy birthday, Mr. Stamos!
