The world watched as actor Kelsey Grammer left wife Camille after 14 years of marriage and two children for a younger woman on the first season of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The jilted wife has said that it was her then-husband who encouraged her to do the program, and posited that perhaps it was his way of keeping her busy while he carried on with another woman on the other side of the U.S.

Now it seems she was right ... in a way. Kelsey appeared on Australia’s morning show “Sunrise” on Wednesday, and the topic inevitably turned to his former wife and her new hit show.

“In my mind that (show) was my parting gift to her after a very difficult marriage and a very difficult decade,” Kelsey told his hosts as scenes from the show played. “I thought maybe, ‘So long. Here’s a little present for ya.’ ”

Sure, the topic of his failed marriage may have been a bit uncomfortable, but probably not unexpected for a celebrity. However, Australian paper the Herald Sun reports that the “Frasier” star was livid after the taping because “Sunrise” had aired scenes from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” showing him and Camille together during his interview.

Sources at the show reportedly told the Herald Sun that Kelsey called up the show’s producer and gave him a piece of his mind. “You are a vile person … a sick dog … your life must be tragic,” Kelsey reportedly ranted.

The former couple are currently in the midst of a custody battle.
