Alligator grabbing isn't easy, but for Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle, the stars of Animal Planet's "Gator Boys," it's all part of a day's work — a dangerous, bite-filled day's work.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb welcomed the daring duo to TODAY Wednesday and couldn't help but notice — and mention — the snapping jaws of one gator nipped Bedard in a preview clip.

"Why would you focus on my failure like that?" he joked. "Talk about all the times I didn't get bit!"

But when they asked him about how many close calls he's had, it seemed as though there was good reason to draw attention to them.

"I've been bit over 30 times," Bedard admitted, adding that he's likely lost "gallons" of blood to the creatures over the years.

Given all of those run-ins, Bedard had some advice for viewers who might one day find themselves face-to-face with a gator: "Just run."

And he had some very specific advice for Kotb.

"Trip Kathie Lee and just walk away," he snarked. "(And) get it on video."

Catch "Gator Boys" Sundays at 10 p.m. on Animal Planet.
