Happy birthday to Gary Busey!Today

He's intense, eccentric, endlessly quotable and on Sunday, Gary Busey will also be 70 years old.

Maybe it's his ageless personality, but we can hardly believe it. To celebrate the memorable man's big day, we've rounded up a few of our favorite things about Busey.

From prime roles to … 'Piranha 3DD'
In the mood for a timeless action flick? Check out Busey as a mercenary man in 1987's "Lethal Weapon." Looking for something more cerebral? Watch his Oscar-nominated performance in 1978's "The Buddy Holly Story." Surreal? See him hassle Johnny Depp's Hunter S. Thompson in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (1998). If none of those fit the bill, well ... there's always his pivotal part in the comedy horror "Piranha 3DD" (2012). The point is Busey's box-office efforts offer something for everyone to enjoy.

More than movies
Of course, Busey's not just an actor. As that breakout role in "The Buddy Holly Story" proved, he's a music man, too. Yes, that was really Busey singing and strumming his way through all the classic tunes in the movie, and that wasn't the first or last demonstration of what he can do.

Before making it big on-screen, Busey once played percussion with Leon Russell, Willie Nelson and (later co-star) Kris Kristofferson. He even hit the stage with Bruce Springsteen when he was promoting the Holly biopic.

These days, between his work on movies, reality TV shows, ads, video games and more, Busey still finds time to make music.

Beef with Meat Loaf
Busey might rub elbows with The Boss, but there's one rocker who didn't warm up to him at all. During Busey's first stint on the "Celebrity Apprentice," back in 2011, he found himself on the wrong side of Meat Loaf.

Why would that be one of our favorite things about him? You've just got to see how he handled it.

In the face of a bleep-filled tirade (over a transgression Busey didn't even commit), the often over-the-top actor was the picture of peace. "C'est la vie!"

#Buseyisms
What are Buseyisms? (Besides a constant source of fascination for Busey's Twitter followers?) Well, according to him, they're part of a hobby that helps him "understand the meaning of one word with a sentence that reflects the words meaning and definition."

Busey dedicates a lot of time to his "isms," and that's just awesome (or A Wonderful Experience Showing Others Magnificent Energy, as he would say).

Say what?
But as fun as Buseyisms are, they just don't compare to the star's everyday wisdom.

Indeed. We may not always understand exactly what he's saying, but we always pay attention.
