Eminem offers up Mother's Day apology with 'Headlights' video

Eminem served up a pretty raw reckoning of his relationship with his mother on his "Marshall Mathers LP2" track "Headlights," apologizing to Debbie Mathers for his role in the rockiness and describing his feelings of "overwhelming sadness" as he watched her drive away after their last meeting. Now, just in time for Mother's Day, the rapper has released the video for the track, directed by Spik

Now, just in time for Mother's Day, the rapper has released the video for the track, directed by Spike Lee.

5 Eminem tracks only hardcore fans know

Shot in Eminem's Detroit 8-Mile home turf, the clip includes vintage childhood photos of the rapper through the years set against dreary domestic scenes of cigarettes, alcohol and smashed Christmas trees, all suffused with a longing for reconciliation and connection.

"But as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far, 'Cleaning Out My Closet, and all them other songs?" Eminem raps on the track. "But regardless I don’t hate you. 'Cause ma, you’re still beautiful to me. ’Cause you’re my mom." You could almost put it on a Hallmark card.
