Philip Seymour Hoffman's "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" co-star Elizabeth Banks is still reeling from the actor's recent death from an apparent heroin overdose.
"I'm still processing it," Banks explained during a Wednesday morning visit to TODAY. "I really am in shock."
Banks, who worked with Hoffman again for the upcoming "Hunger Games" two-part sequel, "Mockingjay," had plenty of praise for her late co-star.
"He is an absolutely amazing actor, respected by everyone and part of our family at 'The Hunger Games,'" she said. "We will miss him terribly, and obviously, (we're) really upset for his children and his partner."
Hoffman, who was found dead in his New York apartment on Sunday, is survived by his partner of 15 years, designer Mimi O'Donnell, as well as a 10-year-old son and two daughters, 7 and 5.
"It's just a tragedy," Banks said.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" is expected to open in theaters nationwide in the fall.
