As if the usual glam and glitz of “Dancing With the Stars” isn’t eye-catching enough, television’s most sequin-heavy reality competition is due for a big budget makeover.
On Monday morning, TMZ reported that a $3 million facelift is in the works for the long-running celebrity showdown, including a raised stage, tiered balconies and a stairway that splits to reveal a brand new orchestra pit.
A “Dancing” insider has since told us that an “upscale” set re-do is a go, but wouldn’t confirm the precise price tag. Regardless of the budget, fans of the show have no need to fear any big changes. No matter what flashy improvements lie ahead for the ballroom bash, the insider assured us that "Dancing" isn't losing its cheesy charm.
“Some things will never change,” the insider told TODAY.com. “The stars and (pro) dancers will still pile on the bronzer and body glitter. And the mirror ball isn’t going anywhere, either.”

For a preview of the talent to come, tune into the cast announcement, which will place during the Aug. 29 episode of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad."
