Say it ain't so! Courteney Cox stopped by "The Late Show" Monday to discuss her directorial debut, "Just Before I Go." While there, host David Letterman begrudgingly asked about the possibility of a "Friends" reunion.

"You're sick of that question, aren't you?" the comedian asked. Cox, who played Monica Geller for 10 years, replied, "Only because once you say, 'Well, I'd like it,' then they have to contact every other cast member and be like, 'Courteney's into it!' And then I get in trouble. It's not going to happen."

NEWS: Is it time to give up hope for a "Friends" reunion?

"Friends" aired for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004. In addition to Cox, it starred Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. Could the 49-year-old actress-turned-director convince her former co-stars to get together, even just for old times' sake?

"Let me tell you something: There's six friends and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for 10 years. It doesn't happen! I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc canceled last time right at the last minute, Schwimmer lives here (in New York City), so it's just not gonna happen."

As Cox pointed out, a possible reunion movie's narrative options are limited. "We did the whole show on a soundstage in Monica's apartment," the "Cougar Town" star explained. "So what are you gonna do?"
