Carlton can dance! Alfonso Ribeiro tops 'Dancing With the Stars' leaderboard

We knew he could swing his arms and move to the music — as long as the music in question is Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual." But who knew Alfonso Ribeiro, aka Carlton from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," could jive his way to the top of the leaderboard on "Dancing With the Stars"?

Granted, the actor's truly devoted fans may have had a hunch. Along with making his mark on "The Fresh Prince" in the '90s (and on "Silver Spoons" before that), Ribeiro had success as a hoofer. He even played the lead in the Broadway musical "The Tap Dance Kid" in 1983.

Still, landing 36 points (out of a possible perfect 40) for a kick-and-flick-filled jive alongside pro Whitney Carson on Monday night's season premiere of the ballroom bash is mighty impressive.

Of course, we'll be even more impressed when we see this move on the "DWTS" dance floor:
