"Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon got a taste of his own medicine from Bruce Jenner on Wednesday. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" patriarch decided to let the comedian know that the scars left by the plastic surgery jokes Fallon made on his show last summer have yet to heal.
Things between the late-night host and the Olympian-turned-reality-star first turned sour when Fallon poked fun at Jenner's overly nipped-and-tucked face in the past, joking that it's "100 percent recyclable goods," among other things. Soon after that joke, Fallon awkwardly ran into Jenner at the 2012 Olympic Games, and the athlete demanded Fallon stop using his face as the butt of his jokes.
Jenner decided to address the incident by taking over the interview Wednesday, barely letting Fallon get a word in edgewise.
"I thought if it was me and I was in your position, I’d try to be an upstanding good guy in this whole thing and invite you on this show to kind of explain the whole thing. Never happened," Jenner told Fallon. "Finally (it happened). I just want to thank you for having me on the show and that I appreciate being on the show."
Fallon responded with plenty of nervous laughter, but Jenner continued his tirade, saying, “And now, I’m going to rip you apart."
“(The late-night comedians), they certainly have had a lot of fun throughout the years, all of them, with the old face jokes," Jenner said, insisting that he has never tried to hide the fact that he's had plastic surgery. "You guys go out there and ... you wind up taking the absolute worse picture of me to prove the point ... then you put it on the air and then you make your jokes."
To stitch up the relationship, Jenner decided to bust out some embarrassing photos of Fallon, asking the audience, "What happened to Jimmy Fallon's face?!"
The late-night host took the dose of his own medicine in stride and seemed to be genuinely surprised at how the segment was going. He apologized to Jenner for the jokes.
Jenner accepted Fallon's apology (kind of) and even admitted that sometimes he finds the plastic surgery cracks pretty funny.
"One of the late-night guys -- the joke was so funny -- I’m sitting there just laughing so hard that actually my old face would have gotten tired!”
