Come on down, Bob Barker! The retired "Price Is Right" host is returning to the popular game show on Dec. 12 in celebration of his 90th birthday, the show confirmed on its Twitter account.

Barker, who hosted the show for 35 years starting in 1972, stepped down in 2007, when comedian Drew Carey took over. Barker has since returned to the show once, in 2009, to promote his book "Priceless Memories."

"I was looking for the perfect reason to bring Bob back again, and this TV legend turning 90 is the perfect reason," executive producer Mike Richards told TV Guide.

According to the magazine, the show will celebrate its most famous host's big birthday with a tribute that will last the entire week of Dec. 9-13. Naturally, animals will be involved, as Barker has been a long-time animal-welfare advocate, signing off each show with, "Bob Barker reminding you: Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered."

"Monday through Friday we're going to be doing pet adoptions, which is something Bob did on the show for years," Richards told TV Guide.

The legendary host will help place a dog up for adoption during his appearance on "The Price Is Right," and will also be presenting prizes tied to turning 90, according to the magazine.

The special episode celebrating Barker will be taped on Nov. 5, according to the show's website.

"The Price Is Right" airs weekdays on CBS.
