In portraying a dedicated, tough FBI agent on NBC's "The Blacklist," Megan Boone has to be smart and detail-oriented. Turns out she's the perfect actress to play the part.

"I wanted to bring something up," Boone said on TODAY Monday before introducing a clip from almost a year ago of Al Roker sitting next to her during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In it he made a bit of a blunder of her name: he called her "Megan Brooke," not "Megan Boone."

To add insult to injury, she continued, "Right after that, he pronounced ["Blacklist" co-star] Diego Klattenhoff's name perfectly!"

Contrite but amused, Roker said, "I practiced 'Klattenhoff'! I figured I had 'Boone' down!"

But Brooke — er, Boone! — bears no grudge, and even gave Roker a little hug.

"No one knew anything about me at the time, so it was perfect," she chuckled.

"The Blacklist" airs on NBC Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
