Angelina Jolie turns a pair of cold green eyes on the camera in the new poster for "Maleficent."

Yes, that's Angelina Jolie, all decked up in pale makeup, stunning green contact lenses, red lipstick and — uh — leather horns.

Disney released the poster for its upcoming movie "Maleficent" on Tuesday, and it offers a creepy look at the star in full costume. Maleficent, of course, is the villain in Disney's 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty," though most viewers probably just remember her as the evil witch who has a thing for spinning wheels.

The new film will be a prequel, in a sense, to "Sleeping Beauty," featuring a younger version of the witch, and explaining how she turned evil. Apparently she starts out an innocent girl living in a peaceful forest — much like Sleeping Beauty — but when war and betrayal come her way, she morphs into a villain.

In the movie, Elle Fanning plays Sleeping Beauty, with Sharlto Copley as her father King Stefan. But the most buzzed-about name in the cast, other than Jolie herself, is Jolie's daughter, 5-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt playing Sleeping Beauty in her younger days, when she was known as Princess Aurora.

The poster is just a tease — Disney is planning to release the film's first trailer on Wednesday.

"Maleficent" comes to theaters May 30, 2014.
