'American Horror Story' casts world's smallest woman

"American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the latest addition to the cast of his unique FX series: the world's smallest woman, Jyoti Amge.

He didn't share details about her role, but seeing as how she's held by star Jessica Lange, who is set to portray a German ex-pat managing one of the last freak shows, it's probably a safe bet that Amge will be part of the attractions.

Amge, a 20-year-old woman from India who is 24.7 inches tall and weighs 12 pounds, was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's smallest woman on her 18th birthday in 2011. According to her Facebook page, Amge suffers from achondroplasia, a genetic disorder that results in dwarfism. She stopped growing after her first birthday.

Though she's small, Amge has big dreams of becoming a Bollywood star. She has already filmed a couple of Bollywood films, and competed on season six of "Bigg Boss," India's version of "Big Brother." Now, she's filming "AHS: Freak Show" in New Orleans.

The new season of FX's critically acclaimed miniseries will be set in Jupiter, Florida, in the 1950s. Sarah Paulson will be returning to the show, this time to play Siamese twins Dot and Bette.

Murphy recently announced that "All My Children's" Finn Wittrock is joining the show's fourth season. The cast also includes Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Michael Chiklis, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, John Carroll Lynch and Patti LaBelle.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres this fall on FX.
