While Alec Baldwin long ago revealed his plans to leave “30 Rock” and his acting career behind when his current contract comes to an end in 2012, the star still had one shocker left to announce when he attended Tuesday night’s National Dance Institute gala in New York City.

When Baldwin leaves “30 Rock,” everyone else will, too, according to the star.

"I will tell you one thing, and that is our show next year is our last year of the show,” the actor revealed to New York Magazine’s Vulture blog. "Our contracts are expired (in 2012), and Tina (Fey) is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great.”

But don't start panicking yet, fans. "We have had no conversations about '30 Rock' ending next season," an NBC insider told TVLine.com's Michael Ausiello. Another source told Deadline.com that Baldwin's comments to Vulture were "total nonsense."

As for Baldwin, he may give up acting, but he’s unlikely to give up life in the public eye. He's openly discussed his hope for a future career in politics.
