Jessica Lange certainly is bewitching, and now the glamorous “American Horror Story: Coven” star has cast her spell on the cosmetics industry.
On Wednesday, Marc Jacobs Beauty announced that the 64-year-old actress will be the new face of the luxury line. In a photo tweeted by the company, the iconic actress is shown in an almost noir setting, with tussled hair and dramatic makeup. The campaign was shot by noted fashion photographer David Sims, known for his Vogue spreads.
As expected, the modeling pick was met with enthusiasm, as fans of the brand and the actress expressed their approval:
Older models are (thankfully) gaining traction these days: Diane Keaton, 68, fronted Chico’s and L’Oreal, Lauren Hutton, 70, poses for Lucky Brand, and even American Apparel is featuring a 62-year-old face. (It's a trend we applaud.)
Earlier this year, Lange announced she plans on retiring from acting. It's nice to see she's taking up a fashionable new occupation.
