Updated 7:20 a.m. PT: In a blog post on her official site, Adele is playing down her remarks in Vogue about taking a 5-year hiatus. "I've a few days off now, and then it’s the Brit Awards here at home and then I’m straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!," the Grammy-winning singer said. A spokesperson also told the BBC that the Vogue soundbite was "just an offhand comment."

Rolling Stone also reports that the singer's manager, Jonathan Dickens, spoke on her behalf to Billboard Tuesday, saying they will need to "ease her back" into performing live. "While she's fully recovered, like any injury you need to build your strength back up," Dickens said. "I'm gonna let her enjoy this [Grammys] moment and not drive her mad. We'll sit down and work out what we're doing going forward. It's a long-term thing."

Original story: Will Adele be taking a break from chasing those pavements and rolling in the deep?

According to a recent interview she gave Vogue magazine, it looks like that may be the case. The British singer, who took home six Grammys on Sunday, said she'd like to have some time off -- a lot of time off.

"I am f------ off for four or five years,” she told the magazine. “If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”

Adele's currently dating entrepreneur Simon Konecki, who she brought to the Grammys, and seems ready to make that relationship more solid. According to the article, she may move to the countryside near Brighton, where he lives.

"I want to set up my home. I need to lay some concrete. And I think that will really cure my paranoia of feeling like I am missing home, missing out," Adele said.

She also 'fessed up to a different kind of love interest -- a big crush on a particular "30 Rock" star. "I love Alec Baldwin," she said. "Oh, my God, I’ve got the biggest crush on him in ("It's Complicated"). He’s so sexy.”

While most high-flying artists might want to take some time off after a major triumph, their contracts don't always allow for it. But Adele is signed with an independent label that lets her plot her own course, even if it means taking a big step back. But she will be back.

"I’m in it for the long run," she explained. "I don’t want to be disposable. You’re only as good as your next record. I’m not scared of losing this. I won’t come out with new music until it’s better than '21.' I’m not expecting to sell as many records, but I don’t want to release s---. Also, I have nothing to write about! I’d be lying. And that would go against everything I’ve ended up building for myself. So, yeah, I will need at least three years to write a record.”
