Here's to just going with it, Adam Sandler!
On the eve of the best, comes the worst, and leave it to the 32nd annual Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, to point out the worst of the worst -- and it's looking like a record breaker for funnyman Sandler.
The actor broke the bad kind of record Saturday evening with the announcement of the 2012 Razzie nominations, which honor the worst accomplishments in film. Sandler garnered a grand total of 11 noms (Eddie Murphy's old record was 5!) for his work as an actor, writer and producer on flicks "Jack and Jill," "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" and "Just Go With It."
Adam's flick "Jack and Jill", in which he starred as both Jack and Jill earned an ouch-worthy 12 nominations, including worst film, actor and, yes, actress for Sandler, worst supporting actress for Katie Holmes and even a worst supporting actor for the great Al Pacino!
As for worst film nominees, another of Sandler's flicks, "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," which he co-wrote, joins fellow noms "New Year's Eve," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1."
Sandler's second worst actor nom for "Just Go With It" places Sandler up against Russell Brand for "Arthur," Taylor Lautner for "Abduction" and "Breaking Dawn," Nick Swardson for "Bucky Larson," and Nicolas Cage for a whopping three films -- "Drive Angry 3-D," "Season of the Witch" and "Trespass."
Joining cross-dressing Adam as another actor nominated for worst supporting actress is David Spade as Monica in "Jack and Jill," as well as Martin Lawrence in "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" with Brandon T. Jackson in contention as well. As for the actual actresses, rounding out worst supporting are Nicole Kidman for "Just Go With It," and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon. "
Other worst actress noms go to Sarah Palin in "Sarah Palin: The Undefeated," Sarah Jessica Parker for both "I Don't Know How She Does It" and "New Year's Eve," and Kristen Stewart for "Breaking Dawn."
Worst couple nominations go to Nicholas Cage and "anyone sharing the screen with him in any of his three 2011 films," Shia LaBeouf and Huntington-Whiteley in "Transformers," Sandler and either Jennifer Aniston or Brooklyn Decker in "Just Go With It," Sandler and either Holmes, Pacino or himself in "Jack and Jill" and Stewart and either Lautner or Robert Pattinson in "Breaking Dawn."
