Jings, I wish I had come up with this one. "Digital Holidaymakers". AB reports on Maggie Irving's addition to Prensky's rather tired and simplistic notion of "digital immigrants" and "digital natives", the 'them and us' that has offered the lazy, the ignorant and the technophobe a way out of just past the technology (I have some sympathy for

to the main hall of the ULearn07 conference. This dance and song is, for my untrained ears, a relative of the haka we see at rugby matches. It's a challenge and welcome, to remind you of where you are and make sure you're here to do good. If ever there's a way to keep your keynote in line, and make sure that respect for all that is (very)

the ogre won't see them. ULearn07 is a great conference, and one with which I have been incredibly proud to be associated. The conversations offline as well as online have been rich, but these three days are only the very beginning. The real hard work, trying to understand the issues laid on the table, is just about to start. Paul, if

Making a radio show, a regular podcast, that kids and parents can find on iTunes and listen to in their own time, has huge advantages of class presentations or even just plopping audio onto the school website without its feed. Jane's workshop, summed up by the Dragon, gave a rundown of these pedagogical outcomes from podcasting with youngsters.

When you go to educational conferences you can feel completely overwhelmed and, despite all the great things you do, you can feel that you'll never be good enough. We mustn't feel this. It eats our souls. Serendipitous is as measurable as the plannedSo, as we head out of this conference Tony Ryan is keen that we find a sustainable way of

No. In my keynote the other day I made mention of the intriguing research done by LTS's gaming guru, Derek Robertson, over at the Dundee-based Consolarium, the Scottish Centre for Gaming and Learning, where he saw that a class using Brain Gym actually had a reduced achievement in numeracy. It was part of a project looking to see what might be

I'm discovering the stress and strain of when you're world really is flat, when your world barely sleeps, as you finish living a full and enrichening day in one time zone, only to have your other just as full and enrichening life begin in earnest on the other side of the planet.
