| I am a girl that likes snakes. I think they are so neat. Bugs do not creep me out. I will even dare to pick up a big black spider. I am crazy about trees even though I am allergic. As a child I hugged trees and talked to them. I adore cats and like to hug them. I used to kiss my cat on top of the head and hold conversations with her. I am a adult |

As though the words and verses surrounding it were a cradle, a nest -- or rays of light radiating out from what we hold most dear. For this reason the traditional understanding holds that Leviticus is the most important book in |

For a long time now I have kept a journal. I reflect on my life and try to write about any scrap of story idea or image that comes to mind throughout |

| I’m not sure which poet said that, for her, writing is a physical process. She had to feel her arm and hand doing the work of the writing and the thoughts came from her mind down her arm and into her hand. An article about children and handwriting reminded me of that quote. In our house, the little one has gleefully been writing the letter |

Grealy attended the Iowa MFA program with Patchett, and they struck up a friendship there (at about age 21) that lasted until Grealy’s death at age 39. Grealy was most famous for her memoir Autobiography of |
