  dear friend of mine found a lump under her arm. Her doctor ordered a mammogram which didn't show anything, so after several months he ordered an ultrasound. Still finding it inconclusive, he ordered an MRI. In fact, if you are at high risk for breast cancer or a BRCA carrier, you should be demanding an MRI instead of an X-ray for most tests.
