  Canterbury, played by Linus Roache. Only Linus, the show's producers and FOX broadcasting know the reasons for the re-casting. So goes television. I don't know what Canterbury's husband previously did, but Quinn's character will be a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who decided to teach law after his and Elizabeth's young son went missing
