| Raise the age people can buy fags to 18, because young people are too stupid to make up their mind at 16. Raise the drinking age to 21, because young people are too stupid to drink at 18. Raise the school leaving age to 18, because before that age you are too stupid to make your own career decisions, and should therefore be property of the state. |

| First, we had ‘civil partnerships’. The state didn’t want to offend religious types, so they stopped short of calling it gay marriage. But co-habiting couples piped up, so now they propose something for them that isn’t a civil partnership, and isn’t a marriage. This is a perfect example of how the state |

| In the olden days, I would have been your stereotypical supporter of the police. Never been convicted of any offence whatsoever, hell, never even been arrested. Clean driving license. Don’t go on lefty demos and throw things around and then complain about police brutality. Pretty ordinary, law abiding kind of guy. But I don’t. I |

| Authoritarians often argue that ID cards, DNA databases, etc hold no fear to the law abiding, as these details would only be available to those in authority, such as the police, and used to help prevent and solve crimes. This argument, however, has fallen down completely after a shocking case involving Steve ‘No time for policing, must get |

The first principle asserts that “all errors which (a man) is likely to commit against advice and warning, are far outweighed by the evil |

| John Stossel explains why we should let people implement bad ideas: As I interview people for my health-care TV special scheduled to run on ABC this September, I’m struck by how many hate the current semi-free-market system America has now. I say “semi” because it’s not a free market when about half the health-care bill is |

| Libertarians start promoting federalism like this, I may have to re-evaluate my opinion of them: In The Politics of Abortion, the conservative sociologist Anne Hendershott offers a scathing, unabashedly polemical history of the pro-choice movement. While Hendershott leaves no ambiguity about her own position on the issue, she closes the book by |

| More Stossel than any other site: The farm program is repulsive welfare for the rich. The average farmer earns much more than the average American. And even rich nonfarmers have received subsidies — among them the late Ken Lay of Enron; Ted Turner, founder of CNN; my ABC colleague Sam Donaldson; and banker David Rockefeller. And how absurd |

His name is Jack McClellan, he maintained a website (now removed from the Internet) called: |
