  A new Rasmussen polls show Oregon House Speaker Jeff Merkley the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate leading Republican U.S. Senator Gordon Smith, 43%-41%. Barack Obama is expected to trounce McCain in Oregon and this will no doubt help Merkley. Oregon is another Senate seat that leans Democrat.
