  Rome, a fragment of fresco has gone on show, depicting a mild and innocent Madonna and Child but said to be part of a larger and much more scandalous painting showing the debauched Pope Alexander VI - a Borgia - kneeling at the feet of his mistress, Giula Farnese.  It is, apparently, an example of "damnatio memoriae"
