| POVERTY in the Philippines is in red alert status, according to the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP). GCAP-Philippines cited recent survey results from the Social Weather Stations (SWS), which showed that 52 percent or about nine million Filipino families rated themselves as poor.
