| Baseball is, as many of you may have gathered, my first love. I’ll be posting a fair bit about it in this, the best of all months on the sports calendar. I know a lot of people regard baseball as slow and boring, and sometimes it is, but that sometimes slow pace turns into unbearable tension come playoff time. There’s nothing like it. |

| It looked like the perfect scenario for Carlos Zambrano a pitching duel with brandon Webbof the Arizona Diamondbacks, but Lou Piniella had other ideas. With the score tied 1-1 Piniella toolk Zambrano out after only 85 pitches. The Cubs bullpen couldn't hold the Diamondbacks in check and thus Arizona won 3-1. The Cub fans had to be shaking there |

| Josh Beckett showed why the Boston Red Sox and the L.A. Angels why he is still one of the best around with a 4-0 shutout of the Angels and at one point retired 19 consecutive batters in a row.
