We must thank those who say good words, but do not dwell on them so much because this will paralyse us and forbid us to move forward to fulfill God's will.Let the |

An important part of my mission in Lebanon was to obtain a defibrillator for the Red Cross station in Deir El-Kamar. Theirs was no longer useable, and they needed this important piece of equipment to serve the thousands of people in the surrounding area. The hospital is almost an hour's drive away and lives could be lost without a defibrillator. I

The Smell of Sin
Published: June 16, 2008, 11:07 am
About fifteen years ago I attended a mission at an area Catholic Church, St. Jean Baptiste. The speaker was a priest from India, Father Santan Pinto. He told a story that I never forgot. It is appropriate here because it relates to the complaint that I have heard time and time again about Karim, "Something smells on him. Why does he smell so?

How I Found Karim
Published: June 14, 2008, 10:14 am
Upon our return to Lebanon, I was very saddened by the condition of Karim. Physically, his feet and hands are very dry, crusty, cracked and scabby. The fissures in his feet are as bad as when we first encountered him here in the U.S. last July. He cannot walk at all because of the pain. The itching is incredibly bad, too, although that isn't any

On June 11th, sister Salwa (from the sisters of the Cross) brought 9 big olive trees from North Lebanon. Someone donated them (one big olive tree costs 200 $ at least). But we had to pay the transport which is 300 $.Sister Salwa approached me and said: "Someone donated the trees but you have to pay 300 $ for their transport."I said: "How can you

The new road is asphalted. It is not the work of the government or township, nor politicians or anyone else. It is the work of Fr. Yacoub. I thank Assad David, a Canadian citizen who sent us money for this project. He read this bolg and was moved by what is going on. Thanks Mr. David, you are the first person from abroad who contributed to Fr.

God's Providence

After a long day of working, I went back to my room, trying to get a rest before Mass. I checked the debit and credit, what we have and what we ought to pay, a lot, but I need to focus on one thing now. Just before I closed my eyes, I talked to the Lord saying: "Please Lord, help me pay this amount." And I slept. After that, I woke up and had
