Published: July 4, 2008, 5:49 pm

He cannot walk at all on them now, or stand on them. Tuesday he will have a nerve block to the feet and a plastic surgeon will remove the dead and infected skin from the bottom of his feet. This |

Papa Joe
Published: July 2, 2008, 2:06 pm
My husband, Joe, also known as Papa Joe, is so wonderful with Karim. Tonight he let Karim cover him in newspapers and put his small cap on his head. Karim laughed hysterically. I love to see this side of my husband. He is a good man and a good temporary "father." God bless you, Joe. Love, Liz

A brief story of Fr. Yacoub's Church
Published: June 28, 2008, 7:38 am
On February 6, 2008, I felt a great call to restore this building (built by Fr. Yacoub in 1932, occupied by foreign armies during the civil war 1975-1990) and make it the first church dedicated to the new blessed (his beatification was in June 22, 2008) Fr. Yacoub the Cappuccin. I followed the same principles I had while building the Lamb of God

My Friend, Abouna Antonio
Published: June 27, 2008, 4:51 pm
God gave me a beautiful gift in 2003 when I was given the gift of Father Antonio in my life. Sometimes he is funny and makes me laugh, like when he piles up cans, etc., at the dinner table, or when he massacres the "th" sound in the English language and declares that he cannot talk with his tongue between his teeth. We go around and around

Karim's Feet
Published: June 27, 2008, 4:09 pm
Since Karim cannot walk at all now because of his infected feet, he enjoys riding along behind my bicycle. Here Andy is towing him. He loves it! We saw the plastic surgeon today that we were referred to by Dr. Van Ittersum. His name is Dr. Fisher. He cannot do the foot surgery himself. He says it would cause too much bleeding because he

Karim's First Doctor Appointments
Published: June 25, 2008, 2:00 pm
Karim saw his dermatologist, Dr. Van Ittersum, yesterday. He said Karim's feet are infected, which did not surprise me at all, judging by the looks of them and the odor. He is now on antibiotics. He is going to concentrate on making Karim feel better this year. His feet are so bad that Dr. Van Ittersum did not want to attempt removing the dead,

Hundreds of people gathered for the inauguration of the first church dedicated to Fr. Yacoub. The Bishop thanked Abate Marcel for "setting my hand free" to transform the mountain into a place of prayer and meditation. The Bishop proclaimed the Mountain of the Cross, a Holy Mountain. The crowds were many. After Mass, the Bishop rang the bell of the

It is the most beautiful night ever. We can see the fruits of our efforts + God's grace + SAints' intercession. I got out to the streets of the town at 7:30 pm, not knowing what to expect. We (Abate Marcel and I) passed through the square. There was a few people. We arrived at Fr. Yacoub's statue which is near the pharmacy. There were dozens of

The TV Christian Tele Lumiere asked me to go to the TV station and talk about the Shrine and the mountain of the cross.I went to the studios in the morning and told the viewers the story of the Lamb of God shrine and the conversions that took place. After the 30-minute-interview, I got phone calls from everywhere. A woman from Palestine asked me
