1. We’re still rubbing our eyes after Miley Cyrus’ raunchy act on the VMA stage Sunday night, and apparently we're not the only ones: celebs and moms are, too.

Brooke Shields, who’s joining TODAY as a guest co-host this week, responded to her former “Hannah Montana” co-star’s twerks.

"I just want to know who's advising her,” she told Willie. “And why [the VMA display] is necessary... [Our children] can't watch that... I feel like it's a bit desperate."

Shields also went on to reveal that she finds zen at The Container Store and can open a beer bottle with her arm. In short, she’s awesome.

2. Trump called into the show this morning to argue that “Trump University” didn’t defraud more than 5,000 students. He had a lot to say, beyond calling New York’s attorney general, Eric Schneiderman, a “total lightweight.”

Video: Business mogul Donald Trump defends Trump University in an interview with TODAY’s Carl Quintanilla, saying that enrollees got what they paid for and calling Attorney General Eric Schneiderman a “total lightweight” who let “Wall Street rape everybody.”

3. Just as reports surfaced of snipers firing at a United Nations team investigating claims of a poison-gas attack in Syria, Richard Engel reported from the Turkish border that if the U.S. does not respond with military force, it will only encourage Bashar al-Assad to strike again.

4. Just hours after the birth of a “vibrant” and “healthy” panda cub at the National Zoo, Britain announced that its only female giant panda could give birth within the next two weeks. Bring on the adorable panda cubs!

Video: After a giant panda gave birth to a female cub on Friday at the National Zoo, “mom and baby are doing very well,” says Dr. Brandie Smith. The zoo still needs to solve the “little mystery” on who the father of the panda cub is, and hopes to gather samples from the baby to determine which panda is the lucky dad.

5. Could you (or would you) commit to having sex with your partner every day for a year? Brittany Gibbons did just that in an effort to battle body issues and improve her marriage. And it worked.

Video: What happens when you have sex every day for a year? Brittany Gibbons wrote about her experience doing just thaton her blog “Brittany Herself.”
